  3. Your promotion of BC Awareness means a lot to me. I am a 2 time survivor - 15 yrs apart and the first round was with a bilateral mastectomy. End of last month my best friend had 1 breast removed and is in her 2nd week now of chemo. She has spread to her lymph nodes. We all need to be very aware. Both my girlfriend and I caught our own from self exams. My first hit with BC was something I found only 2 month after having what I was told was a clean mamo! I will gather my receipts and send some of them along to you. We have a cancer center here locally that helps a lot of folks - I work the beauty center a lot giving makeup advice as well as teaching ways to tie scarfs so they stay on your head. I also go to my old oncologists office often as he does not mind and offer to paint fingers and toes while folks sit there doing their chemo. It helps a lot to feel pampered going through that. Often you won't feel up to keeping up on things like mani/pedis.

  4. Glad you changed the rules to let each of us pick which charity we prefer to donate to. I will be doing a bit of my own donating - personally/physically this month - giving up my b'day on Halloween this yr to be in the hospital 550 miles away from home for bone and tissue grafting. I am in the process of putting together parts still after my chronic bone disease I got from the chemo I had for BC. I also am having phase 2 of 4 trying again to get bilateral breast reconstruction to take on me. My first go at it in 2004 failed horribly. Took a huge long time to find the right doctor who was great and also would accept to try and fix another doctor's botched up work. Sadly many won't take someone other MD's work and help us post mastectomy ladies get things done right. Least I can put my arms down to my side after phase 1 was done. Prior to hitting this doctor and his work, I had breasts in the way of putting my arms to the side. I am in good hands at City of Hope, a wonderful cancer hospital in the Los Angeles area.

  5. Absolutely Beachgal. It makes more sense to let everyone choose where they want to donate. As long as money is being donated to the cause it doesn't matter which foundation receives it.

I hope you make a full and speedy recovery. You are in my thoughts <3
