Pretty and Polished News and Announcements!

Hello lovely readers! A lot has been going on in my little world. I wanted to take a few minutes to share some stuff with you about what has been going on. In my latest giveaway I asked my readers what they would like to see here at Pretty and Polished. I really appreciate you all taking the time to answer. The responses I got the most were 1.) More Frankens! 2.) More nail Art! 3.) Information about me! and 4.) Hauls!

So, I am going to try to take some more time to put these things out there more. I have been practicing my nail art (when I have the time), making a ton of polishes, and I even started a new blog series called "Sunday Serving" where I will be posting a weeks worth of hauls all in one day! I am excited to bring these things to you for your viewing pleasure :)

Now I want to tell you a little bit about me.
My name is Chelsea as most of you know. My nick name was and still is to the right people, Lucy. I very much enjoy watching anything with Lucille Ball in it and am completely smitten with the vintage/pin up culture (not that that has anything to do with LB). I even have Lucille Ball tattooed on my hand. My husband has the "I Love Lucy" heart on his leg!

Right now I am working about 18 hours a day between my Etsy shop, being a mother and wife, and my night job. I am a hard worker and really enjoy what I do. However it leaves me with very little time for myself. That of course is where this blog and my shop come in. I love nail polish! It is an inexpensive way for me to feel good about myself. There is so much you can do with it! Even my daughter likes to help me make nail polishes so it is a fun activity for her and I to do together.

A few random things about me: I LOVE animals! I have had pets all my life and could not imagine my life without them! Before my second child I used to volunteer at the local animal shelter very frequently and even held parties and fundraisers for the Humane Society. I was even featured in a local magazine for my hard work, it was a very proud moment for me. Now my life is so hectic that I only get a chance to go help at a local Vets office once a month.

I am covered in tattoos. From the ages of 17-23 I worked in the tattoo industry. I was a body piercer at some very nice reputable shops. I got the chance to do a little traveling and spend some time on the Convention circuit. I enjoyed what I did very much but the work kind of took over my life and I had to quit in order to focus more on family. I miss the work and my customers but being around to raise my children means more than any of that ever could. Funny but true; I don't like piercings haha. I liked doing them but I never really had a lot. I would get them and a few months after they healed I would take them out.

I love to cook. I am really good at cleaning and organizing. I love to design my own furniture (and polish shelves!) I occasionally work as a makeup artist and a party planner. In just this last year I slowed down on doing those kinds of things a lot but I still do it if I get a call from the right person.

And now for some announcements and news!

Pretty and Polished on Etsy recently had to pull the mini bottles. I apologize to everyone for that. I really enjoy giving people the option to try it in a smaller size before taking the plunge into owning a full size bottle. I know full well that those of us who collect polish rarely use an entire bottle up anyways! Well the good news is that the Mini bottles are now back in stock! I will try harder to keep better stock. I have a week where I sold a ton of minis and I also did a promotion for bloggers to get some free samples.

Speaking of blogging promotions, in case you hadn't noticed already there is a new tab at the top of our home page. If you are a blogger and would like to try one of my polishes for a review please get a hold of me and I will explain your options and put you on a list for which ever option you choose.

I have also been very busy trying to create new, fun, fresh polishes for you. I have several that will debut sometime in the next week or two. I hope you will watch out for those and will enjoy them as much as I do.

All my giveaway prizes will be mailed by the end of this week. I appreciate you all for reading my blog and supporting my Etsy shop. If you have managed to make it through this post I have a treat for you. Please leave me a comment with your favorite polish from my shop and I will choose one random winner to receive a mini bottle of that polish. I will post who the winner is within the next few days. Make sure you are watching for that post. Because I do not want you to have to leave your email address in my comments I will just announce you by your follower name and the polish you chose. I won't give you a time limit or anything. Just get back to me whenever you can. Thanks again everyone and hope you all have a wonderful week!

  14. I think it's totally awesome that we got to learn about who you are. I feel often that people hide behind the blog, it's nice to learn more about the person writing it.
Midnight Rider is by far my favourite. In fact I'd messaged you about it the other day! I hope you manage to bring it back to the shop. It's honestly one of the most beautiful polishes I've seen....and I'm an addict.
And...I know I'm being long winded here...I must say that your life sounds like a lot of fun. Doing the things that you love and being with the people you love. That's a dream come true for anyone. Good for you for going for what you want in life. You're very inspirational!

  17. normally i would say midnight rider or Star struck because I tend to go towards the darker colors with glitter (and I love red) ... but I am really struck by how pretty Party on My Yacht is... I do not usually go for whites or neutrals but this is a beautiful polish.

Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself with us! oh and I love Lucille Ball too!! People that know me very well call me Lucy too!

  21. I love Lucille Ball too.. I have a lot of friends that live in Jamestown, where she is from. Every corner has some type of Lucy store, theater, etc.. I went to the cemetery where her remains were too and her headstone has the I love Lucy heart on it and it says Ball in the middle.

    I like Inked :)
